Your child may be at increased
risk for developing asthma if they:
-
Have a family history (mother,
father, sibling) of asthma, eczema or allergies
-
Have eczema (atopic dermatitis)
-
Have a food allergy.
Although there are many
approved |
|
medications that can help manage
the
symptoms of asthma, there is
currently
no cure for this disease.
The Global Prevention of Asthma
in Children (GPAC) Study is
an international cooperative
effort testing a medical
strategy known as oral
immunoprophylaxis to
determine whether it
can prevent the
development of asthma
in children.
